Aurelius Systems Announces Matt Oka as Chief Financial Officer
SAN FRANCISCO - October 6, 2026 - Aurelius Systems today announced that Matt Oka has joined the company as Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Oka will lead the finance team for Aurelius, making sure every dollar goes toward getting affordable laser systems into the hands of U.S. and allied forces.
Matt Oka brings over a decade of experience in aerospace and defense finance. Matt began his career at Boeing Satellite Systems in El Segundo, where he held multiple roles across the business. He served as the in-country CFO for Raytheon France’s Air Command & Control business, where he was also a member of the Board of Directors. Most recently, he led Anduril’s Autonomous Airpower finance team as they transitioned their unmanned combat aircraft program from prototype to production. Matt studied business at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
“Matt’s experience leading financial strategy and scaling high-growth technology companies makes him a valuable addition to Aurelius' leadership team,” said Michael LaFramboise, Co-founder and CEO of Aurelius Systems. “As we expand production and reach more customers, Matt will reinforce the financial foundation required for disciplined growth and sustained execution.”
"The increased use of inexpensive drones has become a threat that traditional defense systems were not designed for. Counter drone defense cannot continue to rely on expensive kinetic effectors,” said Oka. "Aurelius is tackling that challenge with inexpensive laser systems that defeat today's threats while fundamentally changing the economics of defense."
